Mensa Brands Acquires Pebble
Direct-to-consumer (D2C) company Mensa Brands has acquired homegrown smart wearable brand Pebble for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition would boost Pebble’s online foothold in the country, which was founded in 2013 by Ajay Agarwal and Komal Agarwal.
Mensa Brands had a net revenue run rate of Rs 1,500 crore in its first year of business.
It has grown into India’s largest D2C tech-led brand house, with over 20 brands spanning fashion, beauty, and lifestyle.
Ananth Narayanan, Founder and CEO, Mensa Brands, said, “In the fast-growing smart wearables segment, we believe Pebble stands apart as it perfectly combines fashion with cutting-edge technology.”
Narayanan was previously the CEO of Myntra and Medlife, as well as a senior partner at McKinsey & Company.
Pebble offers audio products, fitness wearables, and charging solutions, and has nationwide offline distribution.
Mensa presently employs 700 people in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Gurugram, and aims to add another 700 this year.
